Exo-net Hints
- Exonets database is always growing and like anything always growing liking topsy this means that the database slowly becomes inefficient. So periodically you should backup and restore your data so that it has a chance to streamline itself and t remove any garbage that is lying around.
- get every one out of exo-net
- Go to the server
- Go program files, Interbase , server Manager
- Click File , Server Login
- Put in your interbase password
- Click Tasks, Backup
- Type in a Directory and name of backup file
- Check that Transportable format has a tick
- Click ok
When it is backed up go through the same procedure ad reatore it.. Now never ever restore it back into your current data just in case there is a problem. Etore into another name say exonet12.gdb . Then once it has restored properly then go and rename your current gdb old gdb and rename the restored data the name of your current gdb.
